Twitterati have hilarious suggestions for Wasim Akram who lost his watch in Emirates Airlines

Wasim Akram, the Pakistan fast bowler, of late, had a rather torrid time. Plenty of times does it happen that a passenger misplaces his/her belongings and ends up pressing the panic button. The system of check-in luggage and hand-baggage has been a tad troublesome, especially for frequent fliers. As far as Akram is concerned, the retired seamer, lost his precious watch.

Akram referred to the watch as a ‘family heirloom’, expressing his anguish. He put forth the details of the flight and also his seat number. Akram said that he tried to establish communication with the customer service points, but wasn’t satisfied with their courses of action. Then on Wednesday, 08 January, 2020, he took to Twitter, tagged Emirates Airlines and narrated his complaint.

The veteran took to Twitter and wrote, “Lost my watch on flight EK 605 seat 10a KHI-DXB. I am now following @emirates. Please have someone contact me ASAP as I have exercised all customer service points in Dubai and do not feel comfortable that enough has been done. This watch is a family heirloom #LostMyWatch”

The help desk at the Emirates didn’t let Akram’s query attended. They reverted and wrote, “Hi Wasim, please DM us the description of the watch along with your flight details and email address. We’ll check on this with our Lost and Found Team and let you know. Thanks.”

In the meantime, the users on Twitter had some hilarious suggestions for the legendary speedster. Even as a supporter offered to gift him a new watch, a fan asked him to buy a brand-new watch from the market.

Akram is one of the greatest fast bowlers Pakistan have ever produced. The now 53-year-old ended his career with 414 and 502 wickets in Tests and ODIs respectively. Even with the bat, Akram had three centuries and 13 half-centuries to his credit, including a top score of an unbeaten 257.

He hung his boots after Pakistan’s campaign in the 2003 World Cup in the African continent. The speedster also had the privilege of playing five T20s in the same year, representing Somerset. In 2015, he made his return to the field for Warne’s Warriors in the games versus Sachin’s Blasters.
