Twitterati not pleased with KKR's decision to drop Kuldeep Yadav against SRH

Kolkata Knight Riders are having a horrible time in the ongoing IPL 2019 edition, given that they have lost four matches on a trot despite having a good start to their season. The Dinesh Karthik-led side has been on the receiving end thanks to a dismal batting performance by everyone else but Andre Russell and a non-performing bowling attack, which got worse when even their star spinner Kuldeep Yadav went for runs against RCB.

Though Kuldeep Yadav picked a wicket in his four overs, he went for 59 runs, the joint worst bowling figures for a spinner in all Indian Premier League. Moeen Ali got stuck into him, hitting him for 27 runs in one over, leading to Kuldeep breaking down with tears in his eye and had to be condoled by teammates during the drinks break.

Kuldeep dropped in the match against Sunrisers

His performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore was just an indication of his ineffectiveness this IPL 2019, where he has picked just 4 wickets in nine games for KKR. His economy has been 8.66 with a strike rate of 49.5. These numbers depict that Kuldeep had not found his groove in the ongoing edition of the T20 tournament and things just unravelled at the Eden Gardens on April 20.

When the toss happened for the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad, KKR fans were shocked to hear that Kuldeep was dropped from the team and replaced by KC Cariappa. The decision was fair given the chinaman’s form and the fact that he would be playing on Hyderabad pitch which is known for its bounce and pace and for being a graveyard for spinners.

However, the fans were not really happy at seeing one of the frontline spinner in the country, who have been picked in the Indian team for the upcoming World Cup, being treated as such by KKR team management and vented out on Twitter.
