Suresh Raina has smashed a sensational ton in the ongoing Super League of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in India on Monday. Uttar Pradesh and Bengal locked horns in one of the important games of the tournament at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The skipper Raina was under immense pressure coming into the game and he trailblazed his way to a prolific ton. However, Twitter was aware of the whirlwind knock from the superstar and reacted in unison with happiness to hail him.

Raina came in early to bat after UP lost the wicket of Samarth Singh in the very first over. He looked scratchy in the beginning as the pressure of scoring only 160 runs in last 14 innings for Uttar Pradesh was telling on him. The bowlers according to plan bowled him the bouncers to unsettle him. In turn, it worked positively for the left-hander as he confidently played a few risk-free shots. Soon, he feet were moving and looked dangerous in his stay in the middle.

Old Raina back in the fray

Suresh Raina played a few trademark once he got into his groove and reminded everyone of the old batsman in himself who used to rule over the bowlers nonchalantly. He kept on scoring runs with ease pummelling each player who came his way and smashed his fourth century in T20s. He refused to get out until the end and smashed 126 runs off just 59 balls. His knock was studded with 13 fours and as many as seven gigantic maximums. He also went past 200 sixes in India in the format in the process.

His heroics with the bat propelled his team’s total to 235 runs after 20 overs. Expectedly, Bengal began their innings in style but crumbled under pressure only to be bowled out for 160 falling well 75 runs short of the target.

Twitter was elated as their favourite cricketer came back in the form with the bat and welcomed him back in his groove. His fans also hoped that he continues in the same vein in the upcoming matches leading into the IPL.
