MS Dhoni once again failed to finish the game for Team India in the 4th ODI against Australia and once again his waning finishing skills were on display. He has already accepted the fact that he cannot finish games anymore by taking it deep into the final over like he did a while back. But he tried his level best in the fourth match of the series but could only score 13 off 10 deliveries with a solitary four and a six. He was flummoxed by a slower one of Kane Richardson which he played on the stumps.

Hardik Pandya, the usual number 7 was promoted by the team management once again like in Indore which meant the former skipper had to come down the order with only 25 balls left. Dhoni now needs few deliveries to get in and then he can launch himself at the death but he required to go bang-bang from the word go as India needed more than 10 runs an over.

He even tried to take India home by refusing singles but could not hit more than a solitary six. As soon as he got out, spectators lost hope like it has been the case so often and India lost the game by just 21 runs while chasing a mammoth 335.

Mixed reactions from Twitterati

However, Twitterati was not at all pleased of Virat Kohli sending Dhoni at no. 7 and trolled him hilariously. Few trolled the master of the finishes once again by blaming him of finishing the team’s winning streak. But others took the loss as a one-off and saw the lighter side of Dhoni not being able to finish the matches anymore. A lot of them supported the Indian stalwart and backed him to do well the next time around.

Here is how Twitterati reacted:

India has already clinched the series and will play another dead rubber in Nagpur on Sunday before shifting their focus to the three-match T20I series.
