MS Dhoni is one of the icons of Indian cricket. Arguably, he is one of India’s best ever captain. MSD has been making a lot of news in the recent times. Firstly, he performed brilliantly in the IPL and made headlines. Then, he had some below-par performances in England leading to a lot of criticism. Now, Dhoni is again in the headlines because of a strange reason.

This time he is in the news because of the goof-up by the official BCCI website. In his profile on the website, it is shown that MS Dhoni is still the captain of the Indian team. However, Dhoni resigned from the post way back in January 2017 and has also retired from Test cricket in 2014. A screenshot of this is doing rounds in the social media and the netizens are going crazy about it.

Comical reactions on Twitter due to this goof-up

This goof-up went quite viral as Virat Kohli is the skipper of the Indian team currently across all the three formats. There was nothing on Virat Kohli’s profile. Although this was corrected later on, social media fans got a screenshot of it and trolled BCCI on Twitter.

MS Dhoni was named the captain of India ahead of the inaugural T20 World Cup in September 2007, before being handed the ODI responsibility in the same month. The wicketkeeper-batsman was later announced as the Test captain in 2008. Despite him quitting the post long time back, BCCI failed to update his profile on their official website.

Hence, this blunder has left the Twitterati in splits. They left no chance to troll BCCI for this mistake. There quite a few funny responses to this. Many MS Dhoni fans went crazy and cherished his captaincy memories. Some also told that he was still the unofficial skipper of the Indian team. Also, some of Virat Kohli‘s fans were really disappointed with it. Here are the various responses from Twitterati related to this matter.
