India’s crop of fast bowling continues to produce fast bowlers who can thrive in any conditions and throttle any batting line-up. Rex Rajkumar Singh from Manipur put on a stunning display of bowling by taking all ten wickets in an innings. Manipur clinched an emphatic win in the four-day encounter.

He achieved this feat while playing for Manipur in the Cooch Behar Trophy against Arunachal Pradesh. The left-armer took the social media by storm by claiming all ten wickets for just 11 runs in the four-day Under 19 cricket tournament. The devastating spell assisted Manipur in beating Arunachal Pradesh by ten wickets at the Rural Development Trust Stadium at Anantapur.

The 18-year old bowled nearly ten overs, trapping two batsmen for LBW and hitting the stumps successfully on five occasions. Apart from this, two more wickets were caught behind and one batsman was caught by another player on the field. Singh was on a hattrick on three occasions but was unsuccessful in taking them.

The teen’s bowling spell had left Arunachal Pradesh in tatters, being bowled out for a paltry score of 36 to add to their first innings lead of 16. Requiring only 52 runs to win, Manipur made a quick work of it and overhauled the target. In response to Manipur’s 122 in the first innings, their opposition had put on 138. Arunachal Pradesh, having a slender lead, looked set to build on it but Rex Rajkumar Singh had demolished their plans through his dream and a brilliant spell of fast bowling.

Shades of Irfan Pathan

The 18-year old had brought back memories of Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan when he took a hat-trick off the first three balls of the innings against Pakistan. His sharp inswing and toe-crushing yorkers were perfectly pitched in and there’s nothing the batsmen could’ve done more.

His celebrations and appealing were also quite animated as he ran across the ground every time he took a scalp and seemed unstoppable by his teammates.
