UAE declare 15 members squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) of the United Arab Emirate (UAE) has declared the UAE 15 members squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 starting next month in Australia and New Zealand. The selectors have appointed Mohammed Tauqir as the captain of the UAE team for the world cup. While Khurram Khan will be Tauqir’s deputy for the tournament.

UAE is in the Pool B in the cricket world cup 2015, they have India, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe and Ireland in alongside them in the Pool. The team is new and doesn’t sport much experience either to pose challenge to the heavy weights in their league. But at the same time fans and followers back home at the UAE will expect the team to give the likes of Zimbabwe and Ireland a real run for their money and it will be their best chance to get noticed at the international stage.

Their skipper Tauqir is a middle order batsman and bowls some off spin as well. He has played 5 ODIs so far for the UAE 2 against Sri Lanka and one each against India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The domestic and international experience the 43-year-old skipper made him the best choice for the captain’s job and Tauqir will be the key player for the UAE at the ICC world cup 2015.

Mohammed Tauqir (captain), Khurram Khan (vice-captain), Swapnil Patil, Saqlain Haider, Amjad Javed, Shaiman Anwar, Amjad Ali, Nasir Aziz, Rohan Mustafa, Manjula Guruge, Andri Berenger, Fahad Al Hashmi, Muhammad Naveed, Kamran Shahzad and Krishna Karate.
