Unmukt Chand who recently bid adieu to Indian cricket is turning many heads and is making a name for himself in American cricket. The right-handed batter grabbed the limelight as he played belligerent innings of 132 runs in just 69 balls whilst featuring for Silicon Valley Strikers in the Minor Cricket League. With his splendid knock, Chand led his team to victory by six wickets.

Chand’s team Silicon Valley Strikers was up against Austin Athletics who put 184 runs on board at the end of their 20 overs. However, Chand made the chase a cakewalk by putting up an impressive show with the willow. In his knock of 132 runs, the batter hit as many as 15 fours and 7 sixes to exude his sheer flair and dominate the proceedings.

He reached his century in distinct style by hitting a six and then sealing the deal for his team. The batter has had a successful run in this season of Minor Cricket League. He has chipped in 532 runs in 14 innings at a healthy average of 53.20. He, however, hit his first century of the league in this match.

Here is a glimpse of Unmukt Chand’s firepower innings:

The batter’s heroics in the US is fetching him a lot of attention and praises from the cricketing fraternity. The cricket on-lookers are already terming him as the Rohit Sharma of the US. He has been exuding his repertoire and that could probably pave his path to the US team.

Chand led the Indian team to victory in the 2012 Under-19 World Cup. Ever since then, parallels were drawn between him and Virat Kohli. But owing to the cutthroat competition he couldn’t make the cut and finally decided to announce his retirement from Indian cricket.

“It’s a tough one for someone like me, who has always dreamed of playing for the country. And most of it very emotional one as well and obviously, having played every other cricket, except for the senior team, I think it was a very painful call. I’ve not been able to play a lot of cricket because of such things and that is why I arrived at this decision, to play some good cricket here in the US,” Chand had previously stated as reported by Cricbuzz.
