US cricketer wishes to represent Pakistan in international cricket

The craze for cricket in Pakistan is immense. The sport is revered as a religion and the youngsters look up to the sport as a serious career option. And now, with the Pakistan Super League coming in very good shape, the hopes and craze of the fans has only intensified. One such ardent follower of the game is Faisal Taj. The cricket fans have not heard of him before but he is certainly creating some buzz far away from the Pakistani soil.

Faisal Taj is a Quetta-born cricketer. He is currently playing in the United States of America (USA). He is an all-rounder by profession and his recent performances have caught the attention of many. Reportedly, he has performed exceedingly well in the franchise cricket league in the US.

Owing to his stellar show, the youngster is now hoping to break in to the national side. Well, he is not aspiring to play for US but for Pakistan. Recently, he conceded that he is having talks with various franchises of the Pakistan Super League and is very optimistic about his chances of getting a PSL contract next year. He also remarked that if given a chance, he will not ‘disappoint’.

“I am keen to represent my country. I have contacted different PSL franchises to play for them and hopefully, I will get the chance to showcase my skills in next edition of PSL, where I might catch the eyes of the Pakistan Cricket Board,” he said, quoted local media, as per the reports in brecorder.

Denying the US citizenship

Well, the extent of his craze to play for the Pakistani national side is quite high. The reports reveal that Faisal Taj has actually been offered the US citizenship owing to his cricket prowess. However, he has declined the offers as he is very much determined to play for the Men in Green in the coming years. Whether he manages to fulfill his dream or not, remains to be seen.
