'Use your knowledge to win trophies' - Twitter trolls Virat Kohli over Diwali tips

India skipper Virat Kohli is in news for all the wrong reasons as Twitter users are brutally trolling him over his Diwali post. It is a well-documented fact that Kohli is quite an environmentally friendly person. Along with his wife Anushka Sharma, the 32-year-old can be seen sharing a lot of eco-friendly messages to the public and onlookers.

This time also he shared a video on his official Twitter account, wherein he gave the users a message as to how the festival of lights (Diwali) should be celebrated by the public. The skipper gave a fitting post to the caption which read, “Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing a series of my personal tips for celebrating a meaningful Diwali with loved ones and family. Stay tuned by following my Pinterest profile ‘Virat Kohli’s- link in bio,” the cricketer tweeted along with a video.

Last year also, the India skipper wished his fans on Twitter by saying ‘say no to crackers’, as it causes harmful effects on stray dogs and unnecessary pollution. This time, he went a step ahead and told the users to follow these simple guidelines during Diwali.

“It’s been a tough year for all of us all around the world but especially in India with wave 2 hitting hard in 2021. As we get ready for Diwali this festive season, I’ll be sharing some of my tips for you to celebrate with loved ones and family. Stay tuned on Pinterest and pass the light.”

As soon Kohli uploaded the video the netizens reacted to it in a negative manner. The majority of users started to troll him negatively. One of the users also said how he should concentrate on winning trophies instead. Kohli led-India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign by playing against Pakistan on Sunday (October 24) at the Dubai International Stadium.

Stop this nonsense and meaningless charade,” a user tweeted. Others also shared the glimpses of how diyas and crackers used in Diwali are manufactured.
