Veteran Pakistani pacer Mohammad Asif looks absolutely unimpressed with the way cricket is being administered in Pakistan at the moment. The veteran speedster recently slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for having double standards in their approaches to different cricketers. He believes that the selectors have been very biased in the recent times and that is not going to help the cause of the team.

Asif was recently spotted at an inter-university T10 tournament in the city of Lahore. After the tournament, on the sidelines, Mohammad Asif spoke to the media to give his comments on the selection policies of the PCB. As per the reports in Geo.tv, Asif remarked that the selectors show bias by picking certain players again and again despite the fact they do not perform well all the time.

Furthermore, he added that his personal form in the domestic cricket has been quite good in the recent times. However, he has not received a call up from the board yet. The remarks came after the squad for the upcoming international assignments of Pakistan were announced by the board. Pakistan is all set to play a historic Test against Ireland. The match will be the first ever Test match for the Irish side and the match commences on May 11. After the conclusion of the one off Test, the Pakistani side will take on England in two Test matches.

Selectors picking T20 specialists in Tests

Commenting further on the same note, Mohammad Asif added that the Pakistani side will find it very challenging to compete against England. He cited that the selectors have probably missed the trick by picking up T20 specialists in the Test team. Asif refrained from taking any specific names but his indications towards the inclusion of certain players looked pretty direct.

Asif is not the only one questioning the selection standards of Pakistan. When Fawad Alam, the perennial performer in First Class cricket, was ignored for selection, the fans had reacted severely on the same. Many believed that Fawad Alam deserved a chance in the series in England.
