Match Details:

The Round 09 Elite Group A and B game will take place between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh at the Moti Bagh Stadium in Vadodara.

The match starts at 9:00 AM local time (IST) (3:30 AM GMT).

Match Preview:

We are slowly moving towards the business end of the 2019-20 Vijay-Hazare season. This season has all been about inclement weather and the subsequent wet outfields resulting in a plethora of matches getting washed out. The two teams- Delhi and UP- in contention tomorrow has had almost ever game getting abandoned due to rain.

While Delhi played its first game (against Baroda) after four consecutive washouts, Uttar Pradesh is finally playing their first match of the season against Baroda at the time of writing after having seen six damp squibs on the bounce. In the only game that Delhi has featured in, the Dhruv Shorey-led unit proved why they have been perennial heavyweights and last seasons runners-up in this format of the game.

Despite Krunal Pandya’s 4-34 and the subsequent batting collapse that saw them get bowled out for 148 in 37.4 overs, their bowlers responded with equal venom and led by Navdeep Saini 3-24 helped Delhi escape with a 10-run win.

Weather Condition/Report:

For a change, it is expected to be a bright and sunny day at Vadodara. With the chances of rain under 10 percent and the temperatures hovering between 28-35 degrees, we should see a full game tomorrow.

Pitch Condition/Report:

With the pitch taking a considerable amount of rain in the past few weeks, the track might be a bit sluggish, and shot-making can prove to be difficult.

Top Picks:

Delhi: Delhi’s batting performance left a lot to be desired in the last game. Most of the batters like Hiten Dalal (13), Nitish Rana (27), Himmat Singh (16), Anuj Rawat (21) got starts but none was able to cash-in on the start they’ve got resulting in their team getting knocked over 148. Come tomorrow’s game and Delhi will hope that their top-order steps up and lay a platform for their middle-lower order to cash-in.

Delhi wouldn’t have won the match, had it not been for the all-round performance by their bowling unit. Navdeep Saini claimed three wickets while Khejroliya and Pawan Negi bagged two each to help their side defend the paltry target of 148.

Uttar Pradesh: Skipper Samarth Singh (227 runs at 113.50), Akshdeep Nath (258 runs at 51.60) and Upendra Yadav (233 runs at 38.83) were the bedrock of UP’s batting unit last season.

As for the bowling unit, the onus will once again be on Ankit Rajpoot (4 wickets), Saurabh Kumar (4 wickets) and Akshdeep Nath (4 wickets).
