There was so much of hype around the Virat Kohli versus James Anderson battle in the five-match Test series between India and England. And, this battle in the first innings of the first Test match lasted just one single delivery, as Anderson removed Kohli for a first-ball duck.

Anderson bowled a good length delivery that left Kohli a fraction, the Indian skipper poked at it and edged the ball to Jos Buttler behind the stumps. And, James Anderson has won Round one of the contest against his great Indian rival.

The Indian scorecard currently reads 111/3 after 43 overs, with Ajinkya Rahane and KL Rahul occupying the crease. James Anderson has produced a marvelous spell of fast bowling for the hosts and has brought them back in the game. In the 12 overs that he has bowled, the bowling legend has given away just 12 runs and has also scalped the two massive wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli.

And, from former cricketers to fans, several people have reacted to Virat Kohli’s first-ball duck in the first innings of the first Test against England. While Michael Vaughan and Ian Bell were overjoyed at the way James Anderson got the better of Kohli, many others fans were not happy with Kohli’s first ball duck.

While one fan stated that Babar Azam is a better batsman than Virat Kohli, yet another fan tweeted that it was due to bad luck that Kohli was dismissed for a duck. Another fan even went to the extent of tweeting that Virat Kohli has lost his focus on the game, while another stated that vintage Virat Kohli is back in England.

Another fan tweeted that Kohli survived the whole of the 2018 England tour for this moment, while another stated that this might probably be the end of Virat Kohli in the international arena.
