Indian captain, Virat Kohli has always been involved in humanitarian causes, be it visiting old-age homes or adoption of dogs, one cannot help but adore the Indian superstar who is continuously escalating towards greatness, on and off the field.

Despite pack schedule of the IPL, with constant travelling and back to back matches, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Shane Watson found vented off to spend quality time with some specially-able children in Tamahar, few miles from Bengaluru.

Virat Kohli posted a picture on Instagram with his Royal Challengers Bangalore team-mates Shane Watson and AB de Villiers, with the caption, “Came to meet some really special children at Tamahar with Shane and AB. What a special time and so much to learn from them. Just happy with small things in life.”

Previously, the Indian Skipper had collaborated with the Smile Foundation in an attempt to empower the underprivileged children in the country. Kohli emphasised the importance of facilitating the youth of the country with basic necessities as they hold the future of the country. Additionally, Kohli further stated the focus should be on nurturing the young talents in the country and equip them with tools to face challenges in life.

“Children and Youth are the next generation of students, leaders, entrepreneurs, and the future of the country and there is no better tool. This initiative is not just about fulfilling their basic needs but making them able to take care of their own needs and giving them an opportunity to learn, equipping them to face challenges and preparing them to be tomorrow’s leaders. I am glad to be associated with Smile Foundation and contribute towards this endeavour” said Kohli in his statement.

Tamahar is an initiative by Dr. VaishaliPai set up in 2009 to empower specially abled kids. The need to address issues of families with children with special needs and the knowledge she gained throughout her career, encouraged her to start Tamahar.
