The final of the Nidahas Trophy 2018 is one of the best T20 games you are ever likely to witness. The Indian team did decently well with the ball after opting to field first. Bangladesh scored 166 runs in the first innings. The Indian team had to chase what looked to be quite an achievable target. The team did well in the last few games and it looked like they’ll easily go past the winning line.

But destiny had some other plans. The winner of the game wasn’t decided till the last ball of the game. India put themselves under some serious pressure as they required 34 runs to win from the last 12 balls. Vijay Shankar, who came in to bat ahead of Dinesh Karthik played a very slow knock leading to further pressure.

‘Well done DK’: Virat Kohli

Dinesh Karthik who was in and out of the Indian team turned out to be the man of the moment for India. Dinesh came into the middle under some serious pressure. But he eased the nerves as he hit the first ball that he faced out of the ground. He followed that up with a four and then a six again reducing the equation to 18 off 9 deliveries.

Even though he provided the much-needed impetus for the team, India still required 5 runs to win off the last ball. With literally no support from the other end, DK still managed to hit the winning runs. He stroked a good-length delivery outside off-stump for a six over the extra cover region to provide India a memorable victory. DK scored 29 runs from just 8 balls in this innings.

Indian captain Virat Kohli who took a break from this series seemed to be delighted with the win. He congratulated DK for the knock and took it to Twitter to express his happiness. ‘What a game of cricket last night, Complete team performance! Big up boys!!! Well done DK   ‘ tweeted Virat Kohli.
