The India V/s Australia Border-Gavaskar Trophy might have ended, but all the off-field issues which surrounded it are yet to end. A few days after the Indian skipper bluntly said that his equation with the Australian team had changed, Virat Kohli has come out with a clarification on his press conference comment in Dharamsala. He said that his comments were simply blown ‘way out of proportion’, and that he is still in good terms with most of the Australian players.
Virat was asked by an Australian journalist whether his relationship with the Aussies had become sore. Kohli indicated that the friendship was over and his equation with the Aussies changed, even though that was not what he expected to happen.
In a series of tweets posted from his Virat’s official Twitter handle, he stated that his post match comments were blown out of proportion and that his comment was only for a few Aussie individuals and not that entire Australian team. He also said that he continues to be in good terms with the players, and has played alongside them for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, and that will not change.
Virat tweeted- “1/2 My answer at the post match conference has been blown way out of proportion. I did not categorically say the whole Australian team but,”
“2/2only a couple of individuals.I continue to be in good terms with the few guys I know & who I’ve played with at RCB & that doesn’t change.” He posted on Twitter.

The Test series having been won, and the trophy having been reclaimed, the action now moves to the tenth edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League, where players from different nations play together and form friendships. It is interesting to note that no player from the current Australian team is part of Kohli’s RCB team, he will lock horns with Steve Smith when Rising Pune Supergiant faces the Bangalore franchise for two games.
Now that the captain has finally clarified his comments, there should be no reason for another controversy to emerge, especially from the media Down Under.
