The Indian skipper Virat Kohli has lost his numero uno spot in the shortest format of the game after a couple of low scores against South Africa. He has slipped to the third position after scoring 26 and 1 in the ongoing three-match series so far. However, the talented batsman of Pakistan Babar Azam has become the number 1 batsman in the T20 Internationals followed by Aaron Finch.
Babar had a decent series against New Zealand which has helped him go past Kohli and is currently at 786 points as Finch is just behind him with 784 ratings. He had a brilliant tri-series in New Zealand batting in the middle order for the team which was won by Australia handsomely. Unlike ODI series, Virat Kohli has endured a dip in his form which reflected in his rankings straight away and is at 776 points. Even Colin Munro has slipped to the fourth position with 773 points despite a great outing in the tri-series.
What about the bowlers?
As far as the bowling is concerned, the left-arm spinner from New Zealand Mitchell Santner is ruling at the top with 718 rating points to his name. He swapped places with Ish Sodhi who dropped to number 3 after he was taken for a lot of runs by Australian batsmen. The ever so talented leggie from Afghanistan Rashid Khan is at the second position only a solitary point behind Santner.
Jasprit Bumrah takes fourth place on this list who has been the shining light for the visitors throughout the tour. Shakib Al Hasan continues to rule the all-rounder rankings as Glenn Maxwell has climbed to the second place and is a massive 23 points behind his Bangladeshi counterpart. Even South Africa skipper JP Duminy has jumped to the fifth place after his match-winning knock in the second T20I against India backed up the decent bowling performance on the field.
