Virat Kohli one among the top three most marketable sportspersons

Indian batting star Virat Kohli had yet another accolade attached to his name when the ‘Sports pro’ magazine announced the top 50 most marketable players list according to their research.

Virat Kohli was ranked at number 3 in the list and was behind Stephen Curry and Paul Pogba. While the basketball player, NBA’s Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry bagged the top spot in the list, Juventus’ footballer Paul Pogba sealed the second spot.

Interestingly, Kohli is ranked above some of the biggest names in the world of sports. He is rated higher than Lionel Messi, who is ranked 27 on the list. The number one ranked Tennis player Novak Djokovic is placed at number 23 while Usain Bolt has bagged the number 31 spot. Notably, Christiano Ronaldo, the poster face of football, is on the 35th position.

Neymar, the Brazilian footballer, is the topmost ranked footballer in the list and is placed at the 8th spot. There is only one other Indian player in the list, tennis player Sania Mirza. Mirza has been in a good form in the recent times, winning many trophies with her partner Martina Hingis. She is placed at number 43.

The cricket fans will surely be happy to see only one cricketer emerge in the list of top 50. Kohli has been in a rollicking form in the last few months. He has had a great time with the bat in the calendar year 2016. He was the leading rungetter for India in the ICC World T20 and is currently the leading run scorer in the 2016 edition of the Indian Premier League. He has successfully led his team Royal Challengers Bangalore to the finals of the IPL this season.

The stylish batsman has already hit 4 tons in this season of the IPL and has caught the attention of the cricket lovers worldwide. With the kind of performances he has put, he is surely deserving that number three spot in the list of top 50 around the world.
