Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly are two of the most decorated players as far as Indian cricket is concerned. However, the fact of the matter remains that one of them is on the pathway of becoming a legend and the other is already a cricketing legend and a leader beyond compare. However, this duo has something in common.

While the facts remain that they do indeed share a love for aggression and aggressive leadership styles, they also share a common love for former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar. It is also rather ironical that the duo picked this particular day to speak about Tendulkar as this was the day the ‘Little Master’ made his debut in Test cricket.

Ganguly was the first to speak up about the same stating that Tendulkar was the one in the Indian team with perhaps the best wardrobe. According to Ganguly, Tendulkar used to only play cricket and go shopping with a lot of Armani and Verscare clothes in his hanger.

“I think Sachin Tendulkar. He used to only bat and shop. Rest didn’t bother. In England and Australia, he would get Test match hundreds and next day you would see him in an Armaani store, or a Versace store picking shirts and putting it up on the hanger. He was probably very fond of his clothes and had a great wardrobe.”

Virat Kohli, the incumbent Indian skipper took the high road and went on to subsequently laud the impressive Tendulkar on being a legend. His tweet read: “The years can’t be numbered. @sachin_rt Paaji is forever the cricket legend.”

On this day in 1989, Sachin Tendulkar made his debut as a 16-year old at Karachi. This was a clear baptism that saw the likes of Wasim Akram, Aaqib Javed, and Waqar Younis bowl to him on a fast-paced Karachi wicket.
