Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli looked in a nostalgic mood today and shared an old photo of him with his Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate AB de Villiers. Kohli and AB de Villiers share a great connection and respect each other immensely. The caption given to the picture was very touching.

”Throwback to a very very special picture. Very few people in my life have connected with me like my dear friend AB and i share the most wonderful bond with this great man. So much to learn from him all the time. If you ever want a role model for any walk of life, he is IT.”

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers came together in 2011 when RCB bought de Villiers from the Delhi Daredevils. Since then, AB has went on from a very destructible batting line-up with Kohli and Chris Gayle which sent shivers down the spines of the bowlers.

Both the batsmen are often compared for their run – making skills despite the fact that their playing style is totally different from each other. The both the players also dominate the ranking charts with AB de Villiers occupying the top position in the ODI ranking while Kohli following him at the No. 2 spot.

Like AB de Villiers wrote in his autobiography, the Indian Premier League has opened up various opportunities for players and one of those opportunities is to interact with other cricketers whom you would otherwise only meet during international tours where you didn’t have much liberty to blend together.

Talking about current assignments, the Indian Test skipper will be leading India against New Zealand for three-Test match home series that starts from September 22,

De Villiers has successfully recovered from his injury and has been included in the Proteas squad for the one-day series at home against Australia starting later this month.
