The Indian captain Virat Kohli is currently in the West Indies in the middle of a three-match ODI series. The first game was washed out due to rain and the second and the most important match is set to be played on Sunday. The visitors have already won the three-match T20I series with a dominating margin of 3-0 and will be hoping to win the 50-over contest as well. Amidst the training session, Kohli, on Saturday, decided to take up the bottle cap challenge which is trending on social media over the last few weeks.

Kohli did it in his usual style and perfectly timed the swing of his bat to remove the bottle’s cap from its groove and stylishly drunk the water in it. Interestingly, the head coach Ravi Shastri’s voice was at the backdrop which attracted the fans’ attention. The BCCI is currently looking out for a coach and they haven’t renewed Shastri’s contract which officially ended after the 2019 World Cup.

Shastri will also audition for the head coach position again and will be interviewed by the Cricket Advisory Committee led by Kapil Dev. However, Kohli ahead of the West Indies tour had made his preference clear speaking about the team’s camaraderie with Shastri.

Kohli, a little too late

The bottle cap challenge was trending a few weeks ago when many of the current cricketers took it up and successfully completed it as well. Virat Kohli also performed the challenge well but he was a little too late in taking it up which is why the Twitterati didn’t delay in trolling the Indian captain. However, this time around, the trolling seems to be unnecessary as the 30-year-old’s caption of the post clearly mentioned that he was late.

As far as the fans are concerned, they took an unnecessary dig at Virat Kohli over his on-field performances as well despite him being the highest run-getter for India in the recently concluded T20I series against the Caribbean side.
