Virat Kohli expresses his eagerness to watch Sachin's biopic through a tweet to the master

It took only a 2 minutes long video to send major goosebumps across the nation! The video was none other than the highly anticipated trailer of Sachin Tendulkar’s biopic – Sachin: A Billion Dreams.

The documentary takes you through the life of the lesser-known Tendulkar; his journey to become one of the greatest in world cricket. From Sachin, a curly-haired baby, the video takes us to Sachin the man who united the country with the pride he brought to Indian cricket.

Exceeding the expectations, the trailer went much more viral than thought, being viewed by millions in less than an hour after Sachin himself launched it in Mumbai. The best part about the trailer are the chants of Sachin’s name by his fans.

It is general knowledge that India’s current batting superstar, who is often called the successor to Sachin’s heroics, is a huge fan of the Master Blaster. The 28-year-old Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, who grew up idolizing Tendulkar, took to Twitter to express his excitement over the trailer.

Congratulating Tendulkar, Kohli tweeted:“Just saw the trailer of @SachinTheFilm, eagerly waiting for the release.  Congrats Paaji!

The movie, set to hit theaters on May 26, has been directed by award-winning writer and director James Erskine. It has been produced by an Indian producer Ravi Bhagchandka and Carnival Motion Pictures. AR Rahman is the behind the music of the film.

Virat’s love and respect for Tendulkar have been seen many times. During the India Vs Pakistan World Cup T20 game in 2016 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Virat dedicated his century to Sachin by looking towards the stands where Sachin was and gesturing a bow down to the God of Cricket.

The movie, from what the trailer shows us, seems to be a promising piece of cinema which will bring us closer to the unknown facts about India’s most loved and worshiped cricketing icon.
