Sourav Ganguly, arguably the most dynamic and competitive leader Indian cricket had in the past, feels that in terms of aggression, Virat Kohli beats him without any question. He termed Kohli as twice the more aggressive. Kohli on-field nature and go-getter attitude has often seen people making Kohli’s comparison with Ganguly.

“His aggression is two-times more than mine,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the Sourav Ganguly Foundation and Sourav Ganguly Cricket School launch, which is powered by PitchVision Cricket Technology.

Kohli also became the first Indian captain to win five successive Test series — 2-1 vs Sri Lanka in 2015; 3-0 vs South Africa in 2015-16; 2-0 vs West Indies in 2016; 3-0 vs New Zealand and 3-0 (leading) vs England in 2016-17.

Individually, he was on a record-breaking spree as well, scoring 235 runs in the fourth Test against England at the Wankhede. His superb knock saw him leapfrog the Ms Dhoni as the highest individual scorer among Indian skipper. He also joined the elite list of cricketers which included legends of the game like Don Bradman, Kumar Sangakkara, Michael Clarke and Brendon McCullum who have hit the most number of double centuries in a calendar year. These performances have made him the most dominant batsman this calendar year.

Influenced by the Indian skipper’s fabulous form both Clarke and McCullum have went on to praise Kohli. While Clarke ranked him the best batsman in the world currently, McCullum pointed out the impact Kohli was making on Indian cricket.

On his Foundation aimed at school children and the lesser privileged ones at different district schools of the state, Ganguly said, “Through PitchVision we promise to take cricket in West Bengal to the next level.

“We will appoint 100-150 coaches to help in the training of various kids from different schools who will be associated with us. Free coaching will also be given to cricketers who are not financially strong,” he added.
