India and Pakistan seldom play each other because of the ever rising political tensions between both the governments. However, both of them will meet each other during the Champions Trophy. All the fans are excited to watch this old rivalry reignite at Edgbaston.
Virender Sehwag is all pumped up for the clash between India and Pakistan. The legendary Indian batter was fond of this fixture. He had a special liking to the Pakistani bowlers as he smashed them to all parts of the parks whenever he played against them.
He also has a triple century in Tests against the neighbours and no wonder he is excited about the fixture. Sehwag also taunted them about the same while commentating for the India vs Bangladesh warm-up game.
Sehwag takes his excitement to Twitter
Sehwag is extremely active on Twitter. We have seen him troll many celebrities on social media and has his own style of doing it as well. His popularity has increased to the extent that he has become a sensation on Twitter.
Sehwag posted a photo of himself pointing towards the Edgbaston field. He captioned it saying that he couldn’t wait for the future and also asked his fans for their plans. The caption read, “Retweet if you can’t wait for June 4th. Also, share your plans of how you will watch the epic encounter. #IndvPak.”

Shahid Afridi hopes for a Pakistan victory
Everyone is as excited as Sehwag is but there is another former cricketer who is waiting for this fixture and it is Shahid Afridi who played a crucial part for his side in many of these India-Pakistan matches. Afridi, however, hopes Pakistan would defeat the Indians as they have managed to do it before in the Champions Trophy.
The former Pakistan captain wrote in an exclusive column for ICC, “The Champions Trophy is the only ICC event where Pakistan have had successes against India. We won the 2004 match at Edgbaston and then the 2009 match at Centurion. I hope the Men in Green deliver a rousing performance at Edgbaston to improve their record against India in global events.”
India plays Pakistan at Edgbaston on June 4th.
