Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has managed to become a social media sensation in the recent times. Time and again, his very direct digs at the fellow cricketers and team mates have surfaced the media. The fans absolutely love the way Sehwag uses sarcasm and pun to best effect on most occasions. It will only be an understatement to say that he has made it habit to troll people on Twitter in the recent times.

Virender Sehwag is very vocal about his opinions and can be brutally harsh at times. This time around, things seem to be going in the other way round. His most recent comments made in the media has backfired. Surprisingly, it is Sehwag who has become the butt of all jokes at the moment. The entire scene unfolded when India lost to Sri Lanka in their second match in the ICC Champions Trophy.

Prior to the game, team India were tagged as the firm favorites to win the match. Nobody even gave a sniff to the Sri Lankan team in the match. One among such people was Virender Sehwag. In a conversation with a news house on national television, Sehwag made some very bold predictions for the match. He had quoted that India will easily romp home with a win. They will seal their semi-final berth for sure with a thumping win.

He had quoted the Sri Lanka team to be a match stick that is wet in nature at the moment. In essence, they pose no threat and have no fire left in them. It was this very remark that the Twitterati took too seriously to troll Sehwag soon after the game. In the match, team India posted a huge total of 321 on the board. However, some special knocks from Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka helped Sri Lanka chase the total with 7 wickets in hand.

Here is what Sehwag had predicted:
