India had a horrific night against Pakistan on October 24 where they faced a 10-wicket victory against them in Dubai. After Pakistan’s victory, the streets of the nation were set with firecrackers, and fans celebrated in an enthusiastic manner but it was quite shocking to see fans in India also celebrating Pakistan’s win. Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag took a dig on the same thing and was left in disbelief.

Firecrackers are banned in Diwali but some people did celebrate with them after Pakistan’s win, he reckoned. It turned out to be Pakistan’s first-ever victory against India in ICC World Cups. India had a 5-0 record against the men in green in T20 WCs before this event but tables turned completed in Dubai.

“Firecrackers are banned during Diwali but yesterday in parts of India there were firecrackers to celebrate Pakistan’s victory. Achha they must have been celebrating the victory of cricket. Toh, what’s the harm in fireworks on Diwali,” tweeted Virender Sehwag on the same incident.

Pakistan were at their sheer best in all the sections of the game while India displayed a lack of disciplined action on October 24. Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi broke the back of the Indian batters to put his team in the driving seat and then Pakistan batters started firing from the first over itself.

Virender Sehwag defends Mohammed Shami from social media abuse

In the same line of events, many Indian fans started criticizing Indian players for their dismal performance against Pakistan. The fingers were especially pointed towards Mohammed Shami who failed to bring spark on the table. Sehwag stood for him as well and stated that he is really proud of the pacer and stands by him. In fact, he is shocked to see such hatred for him on various social media platforms.

“The online attack on Mohammad Shami is shocking and we stand by him. He is a champion and Anyone who wears the India cap has India in their hearts far more than any online mob.  With you Shami. Agle match mein dikado jalwa,” tweeted Sehwag earlier.
