Thursday, February 14 when the whole of India was engrossed in the glee and the ecstasy of Valentine’s Day, a rather horrendous act took place in Pulwama, a district in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. A terrorist attack was carried out by Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad that resulted in the death of 46 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPC) personnel.

The attack took place on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway when a convoy, carrying the soldiers was attacked by a vehicle bound suicide bomber at Lethpora. The vehicle, a Scorpio, carried 300 kg of explosives. The organization also released a video of the wrongdoer in Adil Ahmad Dar alias Adil Ahmad Gaadi Takrenewala alias Waqas Commando. He’s a 22-year-old high school drop-out.

The National Investigation Agency, consisting of 12 members, would be probing the attack along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Quite expectantly, the incident has sent shock-waves across the entire nation. Many people, from commoners to personalities from various fraternities, came out and strongly condemned the occurring. The cricketers also shared their opinions on the matter.

Sehwag takes a heart-warming step

Vidarbha, who won this edition’s Ranji Trophy, defeating Saurashtra in the final, donated their entire prize money for the families of the martyred soldiers. In the meantime, Virender Sehwag, the former Indian cricketer also came up with a heartfelt step. The retired batsman was definitely saddened and shell-shocked by what panned out a couple of days ago.

The veteran now wants to take care of the education of the martyred soldiers’ children He took to Twitter and wrote, “Nothing we can do will be enough, but the least I can do is offer to take complete care of the education of the children of our brave CRPF jawans martyred in #Pulwama in my Sehwag International School @SehwagSchool , Jhajjar. Saubhagya hoga,”
