The Indian head coach saga got a new birth when Virender Sehwag decided to reveal some inside stories on the selection process. The former Indian opener mentioned that present Indian head coach Ravi Shastri and skipper Virat Kohli ditched him on that matter. According to Sehwag, he would not have applied for the position if he knew that Ravi Shastri’s plans of applying for the post. Sehwag further stated that he decided to throw in his hat only when Shastri assured him of not being in the fray.

It was reported that the comment did not go down well with Cricket Advisory Committee member Sourav Ganguly. As per certain reports, Ganguly termed Sehwag’s statement as foolish. However, Ganguly rubbished the reports of making any such comment as he took to Twitter to clarify the issue. Ganguly’s tweet read “My quote on Sehwag completely false ..right quote ..Sehwag very dear to me .will speak to him soon ..”

Ganguly hopes to settle the issue with his former teammate when Sehwag travels to Kolkata for commentating in the second ODI between India and Australia. However, Sehwag came up with a subtle dig at Sourav Ganguly in his latest tweet. The ‘Nawab of Najafgarh’ asked Ganguly not to give justification for every action of his and compared him with a washing powder.

Though Sehwag’s comment did not contain any name it can be assumed that it was directed towards Ganguly. Previously Sehwag’s childhood coach and mentor A.N Sharma mentioned that Sehwag was deeply hurt on being denied the Indian head coach job. Sehwag’s latest comments give us a hint that he is still upset and the wound is still fresh in his heart.

Here is what Virender Sehwag had replied after the reports of Sourav Ganguly‘s comments made circles on the internet.
