The T10 League marked its end with the Kerala Kings winning the title after four days of cricketing action. Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag on Tuesday expressed his gratitude to the franchise for making him a part of the league, ahead of his departure from the UAE.
The dashing opener was picked as the skipper of Maratha Arabians in the inaugural season of the T10 League in UAE. Having retired from all forms of cricket completely, Sehwag found it tough to impress in the T10 league. Nevertheless, Sehwag described it as a wonderful experience.
In his first game, Sehwag batted in the lower order and was dismissed for a golden duck. He ended up being the hat-trick victim of Shahid Afridi. Even in his second game, the former Indian opener failed to create any impact. However, the opener relished the time spent on the field.
This was evident in his tweet as Sehwag thanked his franchise Maratha Arabians and team owner Parvez Khan for trusting his abilities. He described the T10 league as a thrilling and exciting experience.
Taking to his twitter handle, Sehwag wrote, “On my way back to India after an extremely thrilling and exciting @T10LeagueTweets in UAE! Thanks @marathaarabians @parvezkhan35 for making me a part of this successful adventure.”

Widely regarded as the Nawab of Najafgarh in his playing days, Sehwag used to be an opening sensation during his playing days. Scoring quickfire runs at the start of the innings was his endearing quality which helped to provide India with a kickstart to the innings.
Even in Tests, his batting style remained the same. The opener scored two triple centuries tests matches, a feat only achieved by Don Bradman, Brian Lara, etc. He, however, holds the record for the fastest triple century to date. Recently, the opener has been enjoying a good stint as a commentator.
