Following India’s scintillating run chase against England in the 1st ODI at Pune, the whole cricketing fraternity took to their twitter handle to congratulate the Men in Blue for upstaging the visitors after conceding 350. Courtesy brilliant centuries from newly appointed captain Virat Kohli and Kedar Jadhav, India overhauled the target with 11 balls to spare after being reduced to 63/4 at one stage.

“The Nawab of Najafgarh” Virender Sehwag who has been in the headlines of late for his humorous tweets followed the tradition and congratulated Team Indian in his own witty style. Sehwag took to his twitter handle and wrote “Hahahahahaha ! Dus Guna Lagaan Vasool.” India was under the British rule for 200 years and during that time the farmers had to pay taxes to the Brits in whatever they did. So Sehwag rightly said after the India’s historic victory that they had utilised around 10 times of the tax that were imposed on them during their rule.

Like his playing days, Virender Sehwag continues to entertain us, though in a different form now. He has developed the habit of wishing all the former, current and his fellow cricketers on their birthday’s and there is always something idiosyncratic in his tweets. His tweets have been unique and totally out of the box and courtesy his 140+ character jokes on his twitter handle, different brands are now paying him to tweet for their promotion. “I have, in the last six months, made around Rs 30 lakh through my tweets,” Sehwag was quoted as saying the Hindustan Times.

Not only has Sehwag gained popularity on twitter, he has spread his territory and has become a humourist on Youtube with a show named “Viru Ke Funde” which covers everything from how to conciliate with your mother-in-law to avoid paying income tax and how to learn English as an adult.

His funda for the last read “All cricketers who did not speak English, like Kapil, Harbhajan and I, married women who were fluent in it. In front of them, we were not shy of making mistakes, which helped us learn to speak in that language without getting embarrassed.”

Here are some funny replies to Sehwag’s hilarious tweet
