Former Indian swashbuckling opener Virender Sehwag took to his Twitter handle to remind James Anderson that Karma bites after India’s whopping victory against the visiting side in the 2nd Test at Vizag.

“Jimmy Anderson made me pay tribute to Aryabhatta by getting me out for a King pair in 2011. Today,he too got a King pair,” the 38-year-old wrote. The Nawab of Najafgarh, providing his philosophical piece, solicited Arya Bhatta to work out how Karma works.

Known as the “Father of Algebra” Aryabhatta was the first major mathematician-astronomers from the Classical age of Indian mathematics and astronomy.

In the 2011 Birmingham Test, Sehwag was dismissed on the first ball off both the innings by Stuart Broad and James Anderson respectively. Both pacers who have become the mainstay of the English bowling line-up in Tests since then led their bowling attack in the Vizag Test without too much success albeit Broad’s superb spell in the 2nd innings.

Incidentally, Anderson was dismissed for first ball ducks in both innings of the Vizag Test. While Ashwin secured yet another five-wicket haul after dismissing Anderson in the 1st innings, Jayant Yadav got rid of him in the 2nd innings to hand India a victory by a margin of 246 runs.

England began Day 5 on 87/2 but received an early setback after Ben Duckett was sent back to the pavilion by Ashwin yet again. With the English batsmen performing brilliantly in the series so far a hard fought final day was expected but the match got over much earlier to anyone’s liking.

England kept losing wickets at regular intervals and was eventually bundled out for 158 just after lunch to give India a 1-0 lead in the 5 match series. While Ashwin and Jayant Yadav bagged 3 wickets each, Shami and Jadeja chipped in with a couple each.
