Indian batting stalwart Rahul Dravid, also known as ‘The Wall’ of Indian cricket, is celebrating his 46th birthday today. Many wishes are pouring down from across the world, both on and off the field, on this auspicious occasion to the man known as the gentleman of the gentlemen’s game.

The former Indian captain, who has donned many hats from skipper to coach, is one of the most respected and reputed cricketers around the globe and so wishes for him started flooding his social media handle from fans and fellow teammates. One of the wishes, probably the sweetest and quirkiest of all, came from the former Indian opener Virender Sehwag who is known for his humour since long.

In a superb wordplay on Dravid’s pet name ‘The Wall’, which was introduced during his playing years to describe his steady batting technique full of grit and determination, Sehwag wished his former teammate in true Viru style. “Deewaron ke bhi kaan hote hain, is deewar ka bahut saaf mann aur hriday bhi hai! (#TheWall too has ears, this one has a pure mind and a heart as well)”, wrote Sehwag.

Following his retirement, the Nawab of Najafgarh who has a new career on social media, which is to entertain people with his funny tweets and posts, wished his former teammate in his trademark witty style – and his sweet birthday wish is a sure-shot crowd-pleasing sixer as the brilliant birthday tweet has collected over 12,000 ‘likes’ within a span of one hour.

The 40-year-old also added a photo of the two from the past along with the tweet which further read, “A joy to have played with him and made so many wonderful memories together #HappyBirthdayRahulDravid!”
