Surrey, led by Jade Dernbach, will kick off their T20 Blast campaign against Essex on Friday at the County Ground in Chelmsford. The Surrey side is filled up with the likes of Aaron Finch, Imran Tahir and Curran brothers who put on a good show in the recent matches. With the presence of Will Jacks and Ben Foakes in the squad, the Surrey team would be hopeful about good times ahead.

They will be up against Essex, who were blown away by an AB de Villiers special on the opening day of the tournament. Their former T20 skipper Ryan ten Doeschate put on lone fight as only Tom Westley (40) cross 20 in their line-up. Doeschate alone scored 74* from 46 balls out of his side’s total of 164/6. Middlesex chased down the target with three wickets and seven wickets to spare as ABD scored an unbeaten 43-ball 88.
