The Pakistan Super League (PSL) that is in its very first was all about cricket and the matches until Pakistan internationals Wahab Riaz and Ahmed Shehzad playing for Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators in a game on the Valentine’s Day got involved into an ugly on-field spat. Both the cricketers now seem to be apologetic of their behavior.
Being responsible players and having played for the country together Wahab and Shehzad were both heavily criticized. The incident happened in the 5th over of the Quetta innings when Riaz clean bowled Shehzad who tried to slog. The pacer being charged and excited on getting the wicket gave him quite a send-off and that is when the batsman waved his bat in his direction almost indicating his intention to hit him, Riaz charged at him and the two were seen pushing each other, after intervention from the players things cooled down. Both the players were also fined by the PSL for it.
Responding to the incident Wahab tweeted – ‘Passion to win and aggression at times makes you do funny things. For all young ones who watched please don’t repeat nor get influenced pls.’

Earlier skipper of the Zalmi, Shahid Afridi had said, “The fight shouldn’t have happened in first place because it doesn’t look good but it has happened so we can’t do anything about it now,”
Quetta skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was also quoted saying, “It all happened in the heat of the moment and shouldn’t have happened; that’s all I can say about it as we need to move on and focus on challenges ahead.”
Here is what senior teammate Mohammad Hafeez said about it:
Nothing serious I believe ..heat of the motion both couldn't control themselves..I wish all wil b fine in future https://t.co/Nl3bE25oKg
