Virat Kohli has a huge fan base all around the world, and Pakistan is one place that he hasn’t been able to travel on account of the political issues going on between the countries. Kohli has been a great servant for India for more than a decade and has been one of the most consistent batters going around. India last played in Pakistan way back in 2008 in Asia Cup when Kohli was not part of the international setup but his fan following there is also huge and it was evident during a PSL game recently.

The 33-year-old has 70 international centuries already with lot more years of cricket left in him and is currently going through a rough patch of form with no hundred in the last three years. He is part of the ongoing limited-overs series against West Indies and has always liked the challenge against Pakistan.

Kohli has scored 536 runs at an average of 48.72 in 13 ODIs and 311 runs in seven T20Is at an average of 77.75 against the arch-rivals which speaks volumes of his intent to score against them. His battle with Pakistan’s Mohammad Amir in the 2016 T20 World Cup was one of the fascinating battles in the game and Kohli had the last laugh taking India to a victory.

A fan’s poster for Virat Kohli

Coming back to his fan following in Pakistan, it was evident during the ongoing PSL 2022 edition. A fan had come up with a poster of the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli with peace underlined below and he demanded a century from the right-hander on Pakistan soil. Kohli has been able to score centuries on most parts of the world in tough conditions. “I want to see your century in Pakistan #Peace,” the fan wrote on the poster.

In the previous meeting between the two sides in the T20 World Cup 2021, Pakistan managed to beat India for the first time in a World Cup fixture and Kohli top-scored for India in the innings with a well made 57 off 49 deliveries. He will have a chance again this year in the T20 World Cup 2022 to score big against the country although it remains to be seen if he gets to play a game in Pakistan.
