Former India opener Wasim Jaffer has become a fan favourite on Twitter thanks to his unique and hilarious tweets. The legendary batsman rarely misses to give his opinion on anything related to Indian cricket. What makes him so popular on the social media platform is the manner in which he tweets. Unlike other popular cricketers, Jaffer posts hilarious memes on a regular basis to keep his followers entertained.

And he was at it again on Friday as he hilariously related a photo from the official streaming of NASA’s Mars landing with cricket. Jaffer compared the surface of Mars with the Indian pitches and went on to explain how the Indian bowlers would cause havoc on it. He started by saying that the surface looks dry and would thus aid the spinners.

The former India cricketer opined that spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja would be unplayable on the surface. He further said the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, and Mohammed Siraj will cause havoc by extracting reverse swing after just three overs, tweeting:

“It looks a dry surface conducive for spin. Ash and Jaddu will be unplayable. Boom, Shami, Umesh, Ishant, Siraj will cause havoc with reverse swing as ball will get scuffed up after 3 overs. Team India’s bowling attack suitable for all conditions.”

Jaffer’s tweet came just days after the Chennai pitch used for the second Test between India and England invited criticism. The pitch offered help to the spinners right from the start as the game ended well inside four days. Former England cricketers like Nasser Hussain, Michael Vaughan and David Lloyd were highly critical of the pitch.

Caravan moves to Ahmedabad:

The ongoing four-match Test series is currently level at 1-1 after India’s win in the second Test. Bouncing back in style after losing the series-opener by 227 runs, India won the second Test by 317 runs. The hosts thoroughly outplayed the visitors to draw level. The caravan has now moved to Ahmedabad where the remaining two Tests will take place.

The third Test, which will be a day-night affair, will begin from February 24. The remaining two games are of huge importance to both the teams. India need to win at least one Test while ensure the other ends in a draw to make it to the final of the ICC World Test Championship. England, on the other hand, need to win both the Tests to progress to the final.
