Ahmed Shehzad explains his love for taking selfies

Pakistani opener Ahmed Shehzad is one of the very few Pakistani players who are consistently active on social media. During an interview with Espncricinfo, he revealed the reason why he takes so many selfies and posts them on his social media account.

His answer was that he does it for his fans. Shehzad has quite a following in Pakistan and other parts of the world, thanks to his overall playing style and swagger. He has previously defended his stance on selfies. He is often ridiculed for the number of selfies he posts on social media and often most of them on his Twitter account.

It has almost become a matter of national debate, whether taking selfies is eating into his time of practice and is that why his form is always swinging from one point of scale to another. Shehzad was criticized for putting up a number of selfies on social media during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, where Pakistan had started with two straight losses. Shehzad uploaded selfies with Shahid Afridi and other team mates on the social media platform.

Shehzad says that it is not a problem for him for posting selfies or ‘shelfies’ as he calls them, if his fans love them and asks for them. He says he doesn’t care for the criticism unless and until, his fans admire and share his selfies and keep asking for more.

Shehzad has had very little success in the ongoing World T20 2016 and its better that he gives his fans some knocks to be proud of along with the pictures.
