Team India has put them in the driver’s seat in the 4th and the final Test against Australia in Dharamsala and will look to wrap up the match in the morning session tomorrow. After the Indian pacers rattled the Aussie top order with an exceptional display of fast bowling, the experienced duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took important wickets at crucial junctures of the game to put them in a commanding position.

Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneswar Kumar bowled with venom and troubled the Aussie top order on a consistent basis. The duo removed the top 3 of the Aussie top order as the visitors were reduced to 31/3. Following that there was a brief partnership between Peter Handscomb and Glenn Maxwell. Maxwell, in particular, took on the young spinner Kuldeep Yadav and smashed for him for a couple of boundaries and a six.

But just when Australia looked comfortable, ace spinner Ashwin removed Peter Handscomb with a brilliant delivery. The ball hit one of the cracks and took off. It had steep bounce and Handscomb failed to read the turn of the ball. The outside edge flew to the slip and Ajinkya Rahane plucked onto a stunner from thin air. The stand-in captain hardly had any reaction time as his reflex came to his rescue. He again proved why he is the best close-in fielder in the team and his reflexes are simply exceptional.

Following Handcomb’s wicket, there was a procession of sorts as the visitors started losing wickets at regular intervals. Shaun Marsh departed in the last over before the tea interval. Ashwin then removed the dangerous Maxwell, with his partner removing Pat Cummins and Steve O’Keefe in quick succession. Australia was staring down the barrel with the score at 112/8.

Umesh Yadav came back strongly in his 3rd spell and dismissed Nathan Lyon with a terrific outswinger. It moved away just enough to take the outside edge of Lyon’s bat which was safely taken by Murali Vijay in the slip cordon. Ashwin eventually got the final Australian wicket by dismissing Josh Hazlewood with a straighter delivery.
