Watch: Babar Azam’s Brilliant Catch Sends Moeen Ali Back to Pavilion: The recently concluded first ODI between Pakistan and England at Abu Dhabi witnessed one of the most spectacular pieces of fielding when Babar Azam took a flying catch with a dive to dismiss England’s star all-rounder Moeen Ali off Yasir Shah for 7. Left hander Ali played a fine shot but the way Azam took the catch left many fans and even the commentators stunned. It was awesome and unbelievable.

Batting first, England put up a modest total of 216 on scoreboard after its top order batmen went out at cheap scores. Both Jason Roy and experienced Joe Root got out for zeroes. Albeit Captain Morgan (76) and James Taylor (60) added 134 run partnership for the fourth wicket to help England’s scoreboard move above 200-run-mark.

Left-handed Moeen Ali, batting at number 7, was tempted with a flighted delivery from the Pakistani spinner Yasir Shah at 36^th over that prompted Ali to hit the same on the air for a boundary in the leg-side but it was stunningly grabbed by Babar Azam using his one hand. With this dismissal, England lost their 7^th wicket at 161.

Chris Woakes (33) did try his best with the bat and helped England put 216 runs on scoreboard but it was far from a commanding total. Pakistan had not much difficulty chasing down the total. Mohammad Hafeez’s unbeaten knock of 102* helped his team win the match by 6 wickets. Babar Azam also played a fine knock of unbeaten 62 off 62 balls with 2 boundaries and 4 sixes. He added 106 run stand with Mohammad Hafeez as the duo helped Pakistan take 1-0 lead in this ODI series.
