Watch: Hashim Amla faces Sunil Narine in soft ball cricket

The mystery spinner from West Indies Sunil Narine has been spinning the web around the best batsmen all around the world. Most batsmen had found it hard to negotiate with his unorthodox action and variations especially in T20 cricket.

On the other hand, Hashim Amla is undoubtedly one of the best in the business who is capable of finding the runs even with a hockey stick in hand. He is at the moment one of the most consistent batsmen in the game.

Both of them are playing together in the ongoing Caribean Premier League (CPL) for the franchise Tringabo Knight Riders (TKR). Currently, Amla is the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 251 runs against his name. Whereas Narine is the third leading wicket-taker with 8 wickets from 5 matches, behind Adam Zampa and Sohail Tanvir.

On a recent occasion, the two had a small ‘Soft Ball’ cricket session somewhere in Trinidad. West Indian keeper Denesh Ramdin captured a small video of it and shared on social media platform Twitter.

In the video, shot at Narine’s house, the spinner bowls a delivery fast enough, Amla swings but misses. Ramdin advised Amla to play just for the leg-spin as that is Narine’s strong weapon and the more commonly used delivery against right-handed batsmen in the slog overs.

While Narine was in his bowling stride for the second ball, Ramdin said, “No..no..no, off-break,” he keeps guessing, as Narine is clever enough to mix it up. And it eventually doesn’t matter as it was a low full toss and Amla trashed it.

These kind of friendly sessions are always good to increase team bonding, which would help the Shah Rukh Khan co-owned franchise stands a good chance of lifting the CPL title.
