The day 3 of the Mumbai Test saw India come out on top. Skipper Virat Kohli and Jayant Yadav look set at the crease with India in lead by 51 runs already. The day belonged to the Indian batsmen, Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli in particular. They lost a few wickets in clusters in the middle-order. Some solid defense from Jayant gave apt support to Kohli who led from the front.

While it was all India written on the day 3, England had their moments too. However, luck was not on their side. During the Indian innings, England leg-spinner Adil Rashid bowled a fine delivery turning down the leg side to Jayant Yadav. He tried to tuck it away from his legs but all he managed to get was a faint tickle. The ball was caught by the wicketkeeper but batsman did not move.

The English players were excited straight away. They went up and appealed. The on-field umpire Bruce Oxenford was least interested in the shout and ruled his decision in the favor of the batsman. The England camp was visibly unhappy. No wonder why England skipper Alastair Cook was quick to indicate that he wanted a review. Alas! That could not be the case.

Despite his willingness to review, Cook was found helpless as England had already wasted two of their allotted reviews. With no reviews remaining, there was nothing that could have seen Yadav make the long walk. Meanwhile, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli managed to have a naughty grin at the incident from the non-striker end. The replays showed clear edge on the UltraEdge and Jayant had indeed edged the Rashid delivery. But he eventually ended up staying at the crease.

Watch the Indian batsman survive a very lucky escape kudos to the restriction of the Decision Review System (DRS):
