Watch: Manish Pandey talks about himself ahead of KPL 2015: The stylish Indian batsman Manish Pandey is seen in high regards by the cricket experts and pundits as he has been able to live up to the expectations and hype which he created with his audacious and meticulous talent with the willow in hand. Right from outset one could see his batting potentials which was never a doubt but the way he has matured as a player has been laudable. Pandey became an overnight hero after his exploits in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2009.

Manish hogged the limelight with his blazing 73 ball 114 run knock against Deccan Charges (DC) in 2009. He holds the distinct record of being the first Indian to score century in IPL history. But, the thing which has attracted everyone’s eyeballs is the way this youngster has dazzled in First Class cricket as well; and has not just being an IPL wonder. From being a part of India’s Under-19 World Cup winning side of 2008 to making his debut for the senior team against Zimbabwe in 2015, this man has improved in leaps and bounds. Apart from his top-notch skills with the bat Pandey has been an exceptional fielder and his athleticism in the field is second to none.

In 70 First Class matches, Manish Pandey has accumulated 4,832 runs at a staggering average of 50.86 with 15 centuries and 20 half-centuries. Now, as the Karnataka Premiere League (KPL) is round the corner and Pandey will be seen captaining the Mysore Warriors side, the champions of previous KPL. KPL organizers have started a series called Life Beyond Cricket on eve of KPL for the fans to get to know more about the KPL stars.
