Watch: Mitchell Johnson’s chin music terrifies the English batsmen: The 4th highest wicket taker for Australia (311 wickets), Mitchell Johnson announced his retirement from international cricket following the second Test match against New Zealand at the WACA. The 34-year-old left-arm speedster, the 2009 and 2014 International Cricket Council (ICC) Player of the Year award winner, has always been known for his aggressive bowling and on-field energy. He has single-handedly won matches for his team and has certainly been one of the top guns to have ever graced the cricket field.
Like every other Aussie, Johnson also had his bit of camaraderie with England in the Ashes. The Aussie paceman tormented the English side and got 37 scalps in the 2013-14 Ashes and became the nightmare for all English batsmen. Kudos to the efforts of Johnson, Australia won the series 5–0 and regained the Ashes for the first time since 2006–07. In doing so, Australia recorded only the third 5–0 Ashes clean sweep in the history.
As the fiery Aussie pacer retired from international cricket and we would never get to see him again playing his famous chin music against top batsmen, Cricket Australia made a tribute video for their star bowler. The video starts with a serious introductory look from Johnson and features some of the most lethal bouncers he darted at the Englishmen during the tour. His epic clash with the then English middle order giant, Kevin Pietersen, is a must watch. Later, Johnson is seen crashing a delivery on the neck of Stuart Broad which is certainly not something to miss out on.
