Watch: MS Dhoni executing version 2.0 of the Helicopter shot: Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been the face of revolution in Indian cricket and has changed the dynamics of the game in the country since his arrival in international circuit. MS Dhoni is as cool and calm as an ice, if we talk about his persona but when he has the willow in his hand he is as hot and ferocious on the opponent bowlers as if some wild beast. In the 4th ODI at Vadodara in 2007, the West Indian bowlers had the taste of this.
Dhoni is regarded as the man with the Midas touch and has lead his nation to glories in all the ICC events, a feat which no other captain has achieved in international cricket till date. But MS Dhoni is as good with the bat as well and especially as a finisher in limited overs cricket he is second to none and has some blistering and unorthodox repertoire of strokes in his armor with which he deflates the bowlers.
We all have witnessed his signature Helicopter shot in which he closes the face of his bat and brutally powers the Yorkers or the full length deliveries for boundaries with impeccable bottom hand grip, powerful wrists and raw power. But in this video you will see the version 2.0 of the Helicopter shot executed by the magician MSD.
In this particular shot, MSD opened the face of his bat and instead of placing the ball over the long-on or mid-wicket, he smoked the ball over the long-off boundary. Even his right hand comes off the bat but still it has enough muscle to clear the ropes easily. The most captivating and awe-inspiring moment is to watch his follow-through after the shot and his reaction which gives us a feeling as if the West Indian pacer Rayad Emrit is some club bowler and he is toying with him.
