Team India is looking like a very strong outfit going into the Champions Trophy 2017. They will be playing under the leadership of Virat Kohli in the ICC mega event. The last time they played the tournament, they had managed to emerge as the eventual winners of the coveted tournament. Playing under the captaincy of the MS Dhoni, team India had beaten England in the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013.

Coming into this edition, the pressure of defending the title will certainly be there on the team. They will start their title defense against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 4 at Birmingham. Prior to that, they have a couple of warm-up games to get their permutations and combinations right. In the first warm-up game, India locked horns with New Zealand.

It was a thoroughly clinical performance that saw India dominate the proceedings for the entire duration of the fixture. Interestingly, prior to the commencement of the game, there were some delightful scenes at the venue at Kennington Oval. Team India were seen in the huddle trying to have their thoughts put forth together before the big game.

Virat Kohli started giving his talk to the team. Soon, it was the former skipper MS Dhoni who joined in the discussion and gave a pep talk to the team in the huddle. It is needless to say that MS Dhoni has been India’s most successful captain. His presence and insights during the game will be something that even the current skipper Virat Kohli would be looking up to.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a short video of the same team huddle before the match started. Whether he is named as the captain of the team or not, there is nothing that can keep MS Dhoni away from leading the side. He is definitely the most revered player in the Indian lineup.
