The third Test between India and Australia at Ranchi has seen a lot of drama and action unfold. The most surprising one came when Glenn Maxwell was seen mocking Virat Kohli’s shoulder injury on day 3 of the Test match. This is not something new. Another video has surfaced the internet that sees former Indian skipper MS Dhoni handling a similar situation with utmost calmness.

A few years down the memory lane when India took on Australia in an ODI fixture, allrounder Shane Watson had injured his leg. Despite that, he continued to bat along. However, the Indian fielders, Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan to be precise, were seen mocking his injury. While Raina can be seen checking his knee in the video, Shikhar Dhawan faked and limped while fielding.

A very disgusted and disappointed Shane Watson shook his head in dismay to see the Indian fielders mocking his injury. It is just then that the then Indian skipper MS Dhoni arrived in the picture. He is seen indicating his boys to finish the topic then and there itself. He asks Dhawan and Raina to stop imitating Watson and get on with the game.

Certainly, actions like these made Dhoni a wonderful leader and a highly respected gentleman of the game. Now the question arises, could Steve Smith do the same too? Maxwell was seen imitating Kohli’s reaction that the Indian skipper had given when he had injured his shoulder in an attempt to save a boundary on day 1.

In case Maxwell comes up with similar actions yet again, it will only be interesting to see whether Steve Smith intervenes or not. Indian opener Murali Vijay even reacted to the entire scene and said the Indian team is taking the gestures very sportingly.

For now, here is Dhoni shunning down his men for their unworthy actions:
