Watch: MS Dhoni shuts down reporter with epic reply

India pulled off a miraculous win yesterday, just like how the Indian players had claimed in the World T20 advertisements with the tag line: “Yeh Tough 20 Hai, Yahaan Miracle Banana Padta Hai!” and yesterday’s heroics in the last 3 balls was nothing short of a miracle.

3 wickets in the last 3 balls meant 3 dots as well and Bangladesh couldn’t manage to get those 2 runs, eventually losing the game by 1 run. Such a victory would have surely pleased every single Indian cricket fan. And MS Dhoni reminded this fact to one such reporter who was trying to rattle the Indian skipper by getting under his skin by asking him if he was really happy with a mediocre 1 run victory against a team like Bangladesh at the post-match press conference. Dhoni blasted the reporter with an epic reply.

Reporter: “Before the match, we were talking about a big win so that India can improve our net run-rate but look at how we just about managed to win. How satisfied you are with such a win? And second question…

(Dhoni and the media manager interrupt him)

“Just one [question] at a time,” the India skipper said firmly. “I know you aren’t happy that India won today.”

(Reporter tries to clarify. Dhoni cuts him again.)

“Listen to me. Hearing you, your tone and your question, it’s clear that you aren’t happy that India has won. And when talking about a cricket match, there’s no script. It’s not about the script. You have to analyse that after losing the toss, what was the reason that we couldn’t make many runs on that wicket. If you aren’t analysing these things sitting outside, then you shouldn’t ask this question.”

And a slightly longer than normal pause followed, before the mike was passed on for the next question. This sort of a reply from MS Dhoni was absolutely fitting for said reporter, who may have been doing his job, but the way he framed his question, trying to get under Dhoni’s skin, seemed to have angered Dhoni who could not have come up with a more epic reply!
