Peter Handscomb has blossomed into a fantastic Test match player as far as Australia is concerned. While Adam Voges had been making waves with his Don Bradmanesque average in the recent year and the handful of matches he had played, it was Handscomb who has proved to be the most impressive in recent times and the most consistent as well.

In the final Test match in the home series against Pakistan, Handscomb once again proved to one and all what exactly he was capable of with some phenomenal batting acumen that saw him become one of the go-to batsmen in Tests for the Aussies. He went on to help himself to a Test match century in Sydney, something that not many get to accomplish in the infancy of their Test match careers.

However, the 25-year old went on to play second-fiddle to Matt Renshaw before he himself went on to score an impressive 113. While this was the case with many certainly watching and complimenting his innings, it was clear that the dismissal is something that has taken the cricketing world by storm. A wide yorker from the Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz saw Handscomb make arrangements to play the shot to the point boundary.

Little did the Australian batsman realize that the bails had been whipped off not by contact from his foot or the bat, but by the momentum and the bat speed Handscomb had applied to hoick the ball out towards Yasir Shah in the deep point region.

The momentum whipped the bail off in an interesting fashion as the Handscomb was adjudged hit-wicket bowled by Wahab Riaz who had been toiling all day long but to absolutely no avail. In spite of this, the Aussies found themselves on top at the close of play.
