Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is known for his immaculate bowling. He comes in quickly in the run-up and finishes off his overs quickly too. He is known for bowling tight lines and lengths on a consistent basis. Very rarely do we see Jadeja going off the line and bowling anything wayward. However, history repeated itself during the Mohali Test.

Ravindra Jadeja was seen bowling a horrible delivery that bounced several times before reaching the wicket keeper. It happened during the 77th over of the day on day of the Mohali Test. Jadeja came into bowl and apparently, his fingers slipped over the ball as he delivered.

After bouncing once on the pitch, the ball bounced a few more times. The ball kept going wider from the pitch. Jonny Bairstow was the batsman facing it. Bairstow, who was at 72 at that moment, came down the track to hit the ball . A very alert wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel quickly took his gloves off and collected the ball before Bairstow could hit it.

Bairstow had a laugh about it and so did the players around the bat. The commentators had their share of fun too. Commentator Nasser Hussain was heard mocking the delivery as a variation or the mystery ball from Ravindra Jadeja.

Ravindra Jadeja afforded a laugh as the umpire called it a no ball. However, it was deja vu for the Saurashtra all-rounder. This was not the first instance when he had bowled the mother of all wides. During England’s last tour to India, Jadeja was seen bowling a similar delivery in a Test match.

On that occasion too, the ball had slipped from his hands. The batsman was not as gentle as Bairstow though. Jonathan Trott was the man on strike. He quickly danced down the turf as the ball skidded off the pitch. Trott had taken very little time to send that away for a four throught the deep mid-wicket fence.

Jadeja will consider himself lucky not to be punished the same way this time.
