Kolkata Knight Riders number three batsman Robin Uthappa and Sunrisers Hyderabad pace bowler Siddharth Kaul were engaged in a slight feud during the 37th match of IPL 2017. Senior pro in the SRH team Yuvraj Singh later mediated the issue. The event occurred in the 3rd over of KKR’s reply to SRH’s 209.

David Warner lit up the Indian Premier League by becoming the first batsman from the Sunrisers Hyderabad camp to register a ton in the tournament. The Australian was almost unstoppable tonight as he scored his runs at a strike of 213 by hitting ten boundaries and eight sixes, to post 126. His innings bolstered their total to a mammoth 209.

While chasing their monumental target of 210, the Knight Rider’s inning was off to the worst possible starts as they lost their captain Gautam Gambhir and their free-flowing stroke maker Sunil Narine within the first three overs. SRH’s opening bowler Kaul took the prized scalp of the former orange cap holder Gambhir in his very first over of the match.

Soon after, Uthappa played five dot balls and then thrashed the young bowler in the last ball of the over between midwicket and mid-on for a boundary. While Kaul was just standing around the pitch watching the ball. Uthappa combated him intentionally shouldering the young bowler while following it up with few bashful words. However, a baffled Kaul did not respond and shied away from the action with a blunt gesture.

Allrounder Yuvraj Singh tried to explain the Indian discard while he was returning to his fielding mark, following a brief comment and a pat on the back by David Warner. Yuvraj was not pleased with the behavior of the senior batsman and tried to explain the same while the duo went back to their respective dugout after rain interrupted play.

It was all good after Robin seemingly apologized to Yuvraj for his toxic behavior. This is not the first time a player from Kolkata Knight Riders has been involved in a tiff with the opposition. Recently, Gambhir brought back his old enmity with Rising Pune Supergiant batsman Manoj Tiwary on-field in their second-last fixture in the tournament.

The Sunrisers went on to win the match by 48 runs and Kaul ended up with a couple of key wickets.
